CR112 begins a gentle climb south up to Kilgore gap where you’ll probably encounter a few water crossings before turning east on CR502 and starting your last climb of the day to CR5051. You’ll wind through the pines on a really amazing ridge followed by a white knuckle downhill to Lick Branch / OHT. We will mark the downhill as you will need to be extremely cautious on this rough and unimproved section. You will take a right on Little Mulberry Rd which takes you south to HWY215.
There you can High-5 your peeps because you’re a few short miles of pavement back to Byrd’s.
Long Course CUT OFF Time – You MUST average at least 10mph for the day – If you do not arrive at mile 20 (Intersection of CR76 and CR77) in 2 hours, you will be asked to divert to the short course. If you do not arrive at the Summit Aid Station in 4 hours (37 miles), you will be asked to divert to Fane Creek Rd back to hwy 23 then east on 215 to Byrd’s.
